It’s a sign of “peak offseason” when various player rankings begin populating the web, and as the league calendar grinds to a halt prior to training camp, it’s certainly that time of year in the NFL.
Still, these lists remain fun to break down despite their subjectivity, and the Chiefs were well-represented in CBS Sports’ recent ranking of the league’s top 100 players entering 2024. In fact, seven members of the Chiefs appeared in this year’s rankings, marking the second-most of any team.
Here’s a quick look at which members of the back-to-back defending world champions made the list:
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (No. 1 overall)
Defensive Tackle Chris Jones (No. 14 overall, No. 1 DT)
Tight End Travis Kelce (No. 18 overall, No. 1 TE)
Cornerback Trent McDuffie (No. 30 overall, No. 3 CB)
Center Creed Humphrey (No. 48 overall, No. 1 C)
Offensive Guard Joe Thuney (No. 86 overall, No. 3 OG)
Offensive Guard Trey Smith (No. 90 overall, No. 4 OG)
The Chiefs’ three selections in the top 20 matched only San Francisco among all teams, and overall, only the 49ers’ nine total representatives surpassed Kanas City. Additionally, the Chiefs were the lone team to feature three offensive linemen in this year’s rankings.
