Travis Kelce and Bill Belichick share warm embrace on the field after Chiefs’ win against Patriots – before tight end claims legendary coach ‘has some football left in him’ amid his uncertain future in New England
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick rarely stays on the field longer than he has to after games but he made an exception for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on Sunday.
A customary handshake with the opposing head coach and a television interview if his team wins, which it hasn’t done a lot of this season, is usually it. But he made sure to take the time to greet the tight end at the end of the Patriots’ loss.
The duo had a conversation moments after the Chiefs defeated the Patriots 27-17 where not much of what was said can be clearly made out. Belichick does appear to be talking for most of the conversation with Kelce saying ‘Appreciate you coach’ a few times.
‘[I’ve got] all the respect in the world for that guy,’ Kelce said after the game about Belichick. ‘Every single time I go up against him, it’s the toughest job in the NFL to go up against a Bill Belichick defense. He throws so much at you.’
‘… I got a feeling that guy still has some football left in him,’ Kelce added.

Kelce believes Belichick still has football left in him despite calls for the 71-year-old to be fired
The loss to Kansas City dropped New England’s record to 3-11, making Belichick’s timing even more interesting as speculation as to his job security ramps up.
Kelce’s public profile outside football circles has skyrocketed in recent months because of his romance with girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Belichick typically has had his ears to the ground in the NFL and isn’t afraid to mince words, meaning he could’ve commented on anything going on in Kelce’s life.
In both postseason meetings between Kelce’s Chiefs and Belichick’s Patriots, New England came out victorious, including an overtime win in the 2018 AFC Championship.
The Chiefs improved to 9-5 with the victory and are currently the No. 3 seed in the AFC.
