Swifties are going to have a busy day on Aug. 10. If they can’t make it to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in Vienna that day and don’t plan to watch Travis Kelce and the Chiefs in a preseason game in Jacksonville, there is a third option.
The Kansas City Monarchs baseball team announced it will be rebranding as the “Kansas Swiftie Monarchs” on Aug. 10, when the Milwaukee Milkmen visit Legends Field. On that night, the Monarchs will have a new logo (and one would imagine special uniforms, too) and will play Swift’s music during the game.
“A true baseball Love Story!” the team cheekily said in a news release. There will be a big giveaway during the game: two tickets to an Eras Tour concert in Indianapolis.
The Monarchs didn’t announce the date for those tickets, but Swift has three shows planned from Nov. 1-3.
“One lucky fan selected at random will receive two tickets to the concert, announced during the game,” the team wrote in a news release.
“Fans must register to win the tickets in person at the game, so make sure not to leave a Blank Space on your schedule! The giveaway is for concert tickets only.” Tickets to the Aug. 10 game, which the team noted begin at $15, can be purchased at MonarchsBaseball.com or by calling 913-328-5618. Parking is free at Monarchs games.
The Monarchs plan to share more information on the game in the coming days, and let’s hope that includes the logo and uniforms.
As noted, Kelce and the Chiefs will be out of town that night, but it wouldn’t be shocked for there to be a reference to him at Legends Field. The Monarchs teased the announcement on Friday morning.
