The Kansas City Chiefs are poised to be one of the NFL’s top teams this season, and even as training camp progresses in St. Joseph, their players are already garnering accolades.
Kelce breaks Madden NFL record
Star tight end Travis Kelce has now made a significant mark in the digital realm by breaking a notable record in the popular video game series Madden NFL.
Kelce has officially joined the coveted 99 Club in Madden 25, making it the fifth time he has achieved a 99 overall rating in the Madden series.

This milestone sets a new record, as no other tight end has ever received such a high rating as frequently.
In a celebratory clip shared by Madden NFL 25 on X, Kelce expressed his excitement about this honor.
“Everybody 99 yet again!” the nine-time Pro Bowler exclaimed.
“I got the Xbox, oh yeah. Always excited to be a part of the 99 Club… now I gotta prove that I’m 99 worthy. Proud to be the Madden 2025 99 Club!”
Former Giants quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning also acknowledged Kelce’s accomplishment in a video message.
“The game has never seen anything like you, Travis,” Manning said. “Over the last 10 seasons, you’ve averaged a rating of 96, with a low of 73, which was before you even played a down in the NFL. For context, my lowest Madden rating was a 72, and that’s after 15 seasons and two Super Bowls.”
Kelce’s latest Madden 99 swag came with a golden microphone, a fitting accessory for recording episodes of his popular podcast, “New Heights,” with his brother, Jason Kelce.
This achievement places him in an elite group that includes his former teammate, Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who will also debut in the Madden 99 Club this season.
Hill, known as “the Cheetah,” received a perfect 99 overall rating, making him one of the few players to join the exclusive club.
Last year, Hill was rated as the second-best wide receiver in the game with a 98 overall rating, featuring 99 speed, 98 agility, and 92 jumping ability.
His impressive stats and back-to-back 100+ catch seasons earned him this top honor.
Following close behind Hill are Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson with a 98 overall rating and Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb with a 96 overall rating.
Mahomes set to return to 99 Club
As the Chiefs look forward to the upcoming season, it’s anticipated that they may become the second team to have two players in the 99 Club once the quarterback ratings are unveiled.
Patrick Mahomes, a consistent member of the 99 Club since 2018, is expected to join Kelce in this prestigious group.
The excitement surrounding the Madden ratings continues as players and fans alike celebrate these achievements.
For now, Travis Kelce stands alone as the most decorated tight end in Madden NFL history, further solidifying his legacy both on and off the field.
