Tom Brady penned a heartfelt message to his father and his children on Sunday to commemorate Father’s Day.
In a post shared on Instagram, the retired NFL quarterback, 46, thanked his “hero,” Tom Sr., for being “the best role model I could have ever asked for,” before pivoting to his three kids — sons Jack, 16, and Benjamin, 14, and 11-year-old daughter Vivian – “for giving me the gift of being a father.”
“Happy Fathers Day to my HERO, and the best role model I could have ever asked for. And THANK YOU, to these kids for giving me the gift of being a father, a joy that I could have never imagined until you came into my life,” Brady wrote. “I hope that I can give you all that my dad gave me… unconditional love and support.”
Brady accompanied the post with a collection of family shots that also featured his mother, Galynn.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion shares Jack with his ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan. He co-parents Benjamin and Vivian with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, whom he divorced in 2022.
Brady’s children joined him on Wednesday in Foxborough, where the Patriots inducted him into their Hall of Fame and retired his No. 12 jersey during a celebration at Gillette Stadium.
“Your dad loves you more than anything in this world,” Brady said in his speech.
“… There’s no greater joy than watching the three of you grow and teach me things on your way to becoming incredible young adults.”
Brady began his prolific NFL career with the Patriots in 2000 and spent two decades in New England, winning six championships.
He took his talents to Tampa Bay after the 2019 season and won Super Bowl 2021 with the Buccaneers.
Brady hung up his cleats for good in 2023 after 23 seasons.
The future Hall of Famer is now gearing up for his first season as Fox Sports’ lead NFL analyst.
Brady, who will be working alongside Kevin Burkhardt in the booth, said this week on the “SI Media With Jimmy Traina” podcast how many in the business have offered support as he begins this career transition.
“Everyone really opened their arms to embrace me and phone calls and there are still more that I’m going to make before the start of the season. And I’m just very grateful for the people that kind of shared a lot of incredible nuggets, ways to succeed, that I’ll be able to involve myself in as I go forward,” Brady said.
He’ll make his broadcasting debut on Sept. 8 when the Cowboys battle the Browns in Week 1.
