Tom Brady’s father emotionally reflects on Patriots icon’s Hall of Fame induction – “This night is almost incomprehensible”

Tom Brady was officially introduced into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame on Wednesday, officially putting his career to bed and ending the most important chapter of his career. The quarterback won six rings over two decades with the franchise and became the greatest of all time playing for Robert Kraft.

In what was an emotional night with a packed Gillette Stadium, Brady’s father, Tom E. Curran, spoke to NBC about what the night meant not only for his son but for the entire family as well. And he couldn’t hold back his thoughts on how they never envisioned being there and the entire journey they went through:

“This is so surrealistic. It’s incomprehensible,” Brady Sr. said. “In our wildest imaginations ever, we could not imagine something as spectacular as this.

I’ve driven down these roads so many times over the last 20 years, and just to see that it’s really kind of coming to an end,” he added. “But the joy that we’ve had, the highs and the lows, the friendships that we’ve made, it just doesn’t get any better. So this night it’s almost incomprehensible for me, because we remember him as 199, and 199s don’t generally get this kind of reception.”

Tom Brady’s career with the New England Patriots made him the undisputed GOAT of the NFL

The fact that the quarterback was able to win six Super Bowl rings as a starter after being the 199th pick in the NFL Draft is impressive enough and something that’s never going to be repeated, but to remember the times when Tom Brady was the quarterback in Foxboro is to return to the NFL’s greatest dynasty.

Tom Brady played his entire career with the franchise under the leadership of Bill Belichick. The pair made for an unstoppable force and, perhaps more important, felt that nothing was more important than winning. They won six rings, made the Super Bowl three other times and, when the quarterback was healthy, they were always a threat within the NFC.

Winning a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought vindication later in his career, but when you think of Tom Brady, there’s only one franchise you can think of him playing for.
