Travis Kelce has signed a new sponsorship deal with Subway as he starred in the fast food chain’s newest commercial alongside Patrick Mahomes – only weeks after his managers feared that he is becoming too famous and vowed any new deal this year would be ‘authenticity first.’
Taylor Swift ‘s boyfriend shared his latest ad campaign with Subway on Instagram on Thursday, as it primarily focuses on the Chiefs’ star quarterback promoting his love for pairing subs with the chain’s new footlong cookie.
Standing as the camera’s main focal point, Mahomes said: ‘There’s nothing better than a Subway footlong. Except when you add a new footlong sidekick. Like a boss, the new footlong cookie…
‘This might be my favorite sidekick ever,’ the two-time Super Bowl champion added, as the camera directly switched to Kelce, who was clearly hurt and stunned by his teammate replacing him with a snack. But, feelings aside, Kelce has his own, favorite little – or rather humongous – Subway treat – the sweet footlong churro – as he shared a snap of himself with the Spanish dessert on his Instagram story.
Together, Mahomes and Kelce have been one of the most successful duos in NFL history as they just eclipsed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski ‘s career record with 16 postseason touchdowns following last Sunday’s AFC Divisional round win against the Buffalo Bills. Kelce’s latest deal with Subway is just one of many signed over the last two years, as he promotes himself in commercials for Experian, Pfizer and State Farm.
As a matter of fact, Mahomes is also featured in the insurance giant’s ad last year, which just shows the love between the pair off an NFL field. Kelce has been on an incredible rise to fame since winning his second Super Bowl in the space of five seasons, last year.
He hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’ after the Chiefs defeated his brother’s Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII and is now dating one of the world’s biggest popstars — Taylor Swift.
Earlier this month, the tight end’s managers – Andre and Aaron Eanes, of A&A Management – told the New York Times, that they worry the world could eventually grow numb to the sight of Kelce if he appears too much in the media. The Eanes brothers, who signed Kelce as the company’s second client, told the outlet that, right after the New Year, all parties agreed to bring fewer deals with a focus on ‘quality over quantity’ and ‘authenticity first’.
In addition to his name, the NFL player is reportedly also looking to trademark his Instagram handle, ‘Killlatrav,’ his signature catchphrase, ‘Alright Nah,’ a reference to his jersey number, ‘Flight 87,’ and ‘Kelce’s Krunch.’ Read the full
