Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce experienced two types of football in the same day on Saturday.
After taking part in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions, Kelce and his quarterback Patrick Mahomes showered off and went to a Kansas City Current women’s soccer game.
The Current were taking on the women’s side of Atletico Madrid in The Women’s Cup final and the Chiefs stars were there to support the home team.
Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, is a co-owner of the team and the trio all watched on from a suite.
The Current ended up winning the match – a 1-0 victory thanks to the boots of Brazilian star Debinha.

Mahomes and Kelce watched on having already played a preseason game of American football earlier in the day.
The quarterback completed eight-of-14 passes for the day for 93 yards and showed some stellar stuff.
That included his only completion to Kelce – an improvised behind-the-back pass that the tight end recognized, caught, and advanced for an eight yard gain.
While it may have seemed like something straight out of training camp, it turns out, Mahomes didn’t set that play up at all.
‘Travis didn’t run the route he was supposed to run. I was mad, I was p*ssed off at Travis,’ Mahomes explained.
‘Out of spite, I threw a behind-the-back pass. But now it’s going to be a highlight!’
In the act of fairness, Kelce was then given the right to reply – and he responded by pulling out a hilarious Kermit the Frog-style impression of Mahomes.
‘It wasn’t a play? Nah, it was a play… it was a first down,’ Kelce responded during his live TV interview when asked about the viral moment, before explaining why he may have misheard his quarterback
Earlier in the day, Kelce caught this insane behind-the-back pass from Mahomes in a game
‘You know he’s got the voice thing, so he kind of mumbles,’ he joked, producing a hilarious noise that sounded uncannily like something out of The Muppets.
‘So he kind of mumbled out the play and I couldn’t hear it, I was walking up to the line trying to decipher what he was saying, and before I knew it he snapped the ball.’
The Chiefs ended up losing the game to Detroit 24-23, falling at home in their second preseason contest.
They’ll have one final chance to make something out of their preseason with a game on August 22 against the Chicago Bears.
Then, it’ll be a swift change over to the regular season with a Thursday night clash with the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
